The timeless hand game of “rock, paper, scissors” which we all played as kids and continue to see kids play today, originated in Asia. In Japan, these hand games are known as the games of Ken. These three Kabuki actors depicted as a frog, a fox and a tiger are playing a hand game of Ken, by artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi, 1847. We think these characters were impatiently waiting over 170 years to be on a kid’s t-shirt.
